One of my favorite things about fashion is that certain pieces never go out of style. A well-fitted black suit, a nice pair of brown brogues and a leather bomber jacket are all great examples. My personal favorite, however, is the white t-shirt and jeans. I love this outfit because of its simplicity. I also love it because of the room it leaves for the addition of accessories. I went all out with the necklace, bracelet, ring and watch. Whereas normally all of these things together might seem excessive, it works with a simple outfit like a white tee and jeans.
A plain white tee is something that I’ve always held near and dear. It displays a certain level of evenness for me. It’s suitable for most any daytime activity and can be worn under a jacket or blazer for a great nighttime outfit as well. I’ve just recently jumped on the bandwagon for higher end white tees. I even wrote an article for Gent’s Lounge about it, which you can check out by clicking here.
Also, a great pair of fitted, classically faded jeans should be in every man’s closet. I like mine to fit a bit snug in the leg and cuff so they sit nicely over the tops of my shoes or boots. I wore these suede double monk straps to class up the look a bit, but sneakers or boots are totally acceptable as well.
This t-shirt and jeans are from Buck Mason (www.buckmason.com), an American brand that absolutely kills it in the basics game. Their denim is high quality without being absurdly expensive and their shirts are crazy soft and comfortable. This tee is slub cotton and the denim is heavy enough that I can tell it’s going to break-in beautifully.
If you can’t name your favorite pair of jeans or your favorite t-shirt, I’d recommend giving Buck Mason a try as I’d be willing to bet they’ll become one of your favorites.
