Enough already!!!!! This happens every year. I throughly enjoy myself during the summer months, taking full advantage of wearing shorts and t-shirts as often as possible. Then “fall” comes and all I want to do is wear a jacket and boots but it’s just too damn hot.

When the weather is being an asshole, you’ve got to remember to ignore the calendar. What I mean by this is being sure that you dress yourself according to the weather, not the time of year.

I’m breaking the rules again in my Tommy Bahama off-white denim because they’re lightweight and really comfortable. Additionally, I wanted something  with sleeves, so I threw on this lightweight button up from Urban that I’ve had for years. I cut the collar off last year (an easy DIY project that I demonstrated recently on Gent’s Lounge) so it’s a great piece for layering or wearing on it’s own during these transitional months.

Sneakers are always going to be more comfortable for me in the heat, so I grabbed these hi-tops from The House of Future. The sweater belt is a fun move during fall to give yourself that extra layer, just in case. It’s easy to wear, looks kinda cool, and if you’re gonna be out of the house all day and night, you’ll be glad you have it once night falls.

Overall a really simple look for staying comfortable in heat and also satisfying my craving for a fall inspired look.
