Not gonna lie, quarantine has been tough. There are A LOT of things that I now realize I’ve always taken for granted. One of them being able to go to the gym anytime and relieve stress. Now that gyms are off-limits and I can only stand to do so many more pushups in my condo, I’ve gone back to the OG workout, running and calisthenics. Thankfully, I’m a Zappos Rewards member and they reached out to me about trying some Mizuno Wave Inspire 16 shoes.

If you’ve been following me for any real amount of time, you know I’m obsessed with shoes, so I jumped at the opportunity to try these out. I’d never worn Mizuno running shoes before, so I was excited to try them out in a variety of outdoor workouts.

As soon as I put them on I realized I was in for a treat. The cushion is incredible and balanced while the shoe overall feels extremely lightweight on-foot. I opted for the Salmon colorway, because duh, and I really love the way they pop against my usual all-black workout looks. They also have a really nice grey color and a blue color option.

One of the coolest parts about being a Zappos Rewards member is that you get a 30 Day Runlimited Guarantee. Essentially, I can wear them for 30 days to see if they work for me and if not, return them no problem for a full refund.

I hit the road and warmed up with a 1.5 mile jog. It’s always been one of the most peaceful activities for me, but I also immediately realized that I’d definitely put on some quarantine weight based on how quickly I got winded. Thankfully I pushed through and got a bit of a second wind. The shoes felt great so I decided to try out some quick cut moves to test their durability.

If you’re looking for an amazing 20 minute workout, try running for 10 minutes at a brisk pace, nothing too intense…

Then from there, find a parking lot or a slightly open surface, pick two spots about 15-20 yards apart from each other and just run sprints back and forth, touching each spot when you get there. Really focus on driving your weight in the opposite direction. Try to do 30-60 seconds on, 30-60 seconds off for 10 minutes.

This is a killer workout that will boost your metabolism to knock off that extra quarantine weight and leave your mental state just a bit more positive afterwards.

Finally, don’t forget to stretch and rest. It’s equally as important to the productivity of your workout as the workout itself.

I’m really loving these Mizuno shoes. I think they’ll be my new go to outdoor workout shoes. They’re light enough that a run feels explosive, but they’re sturdy enough to do quick stop and go workouts without feeling like I’m going to turn my ankle.

Thanks to Zappos! Highly recommend becoming a Rewards member so you can also get the benefits of 2-day shipping and the 30 Day Runlimited Guarantee!
