It’s the most wonderful tiiimmmeeee of the year!!! Sure, holiday season is cool and all, but when the temperatures first start to rise back into the 70s is my favorite time of year for fashion. It’s warm enough during the day to wear a tee shirt and jeans, but cold enough in the evenings that a jacket or even a light coat are necessary. It’s the best! There’s something about the energy in the air when it becomes nice again. People are happier, things taste better…maybe I’m just a crazy person. My plan for summer fashion this year is to maximize casualness as well as make bold moves. I’m ready to start standing out a bit more even in my simplest looks.

Earth tones are my jam! Greens, dark blues, browns, grays…they’re awesome, right? I just got this tee shirt recently so I figured it was a perfect time to bust it out. One other thing that I love about warmer weather is the ability to wear lighter colored clothing. Every dude ought to have an off-colored pair of denim or two. These beige jeans are like eight years old but I still love them during the spring and summer. Find a brand of basics that works for you and start stocking up on them in every color. This tee is Buck Mason and the jeans are from Gap.

One major thing you’ve got to remember in spring time is that just because it’s warmer doesn’t mean you need to be wearing boat shoes or flip flops (don’t ever wear flip flops, haha). Boots are still totally in play. These suede chelsea boots were a fun way to keep my color palette similar throughout the outfit. Don’t be afraid to rock boots with a tee and jeans, fellas. It’s one of the most masculine looks there is. Be sure the jeans are slim and fitted, get a tee that fits but isn’t too tight and you’re set!

My way of differentiating was with accessories. The necklace, the sunglasses, the chunky watch and the bracelet were all very intentional. They’re what takes this otherwise simple outfit to the next level. I’m a firm believer that a man ought to be able to accessorize. Even if you only have one go to necklace or bracelet, that’s totally fine. Get something that’s versatile and basic and it will show that you know what you’re doing.

I hope you guys are ready for some boldness this spring and summer. It’s gonna be good!
