It’s casual Friday! I hope everyone is braced and ready for an exciting weekend ahead. Football season is officially over, which for me means it’s finally time to start paying attention to the NBA. That being said, I was in the mood to bust out some Jordans for the post today.

Oftentimes I talk to people who think that stylish means dressy and I always tell them to think otherwise. Basics are better than ever these days and taking advantage of them in the right ways is all it takes to stand out.

As I’ve shown, I’m not afraid of denim on denim, aka the “Canadian Tuxedo”. That being said, a lot of guys aren’t quite there yet and that’s fine. I love pairing my favorite denim jacket from Gap with these light brown jeans, also from Gap. It’s a great way to stay comfortable without feeling like you need to adopt the phrase “eh!”

A bit of layering with a zip up hoodie and a statement piece of jewelry like this necklace I put together and all of a sudden you’re looking cool and feeling good!

Obviously I love sneakers, so throwing some of your favorites into an outfit like this is a great way to add some fun detail. Basketball shoes can be tough for me because I don’t like to pair them with an outfit that makes me look like I’m trying to be someone I’m not. By contrasting them with the hipster-ish denim on denim, it’s more about showing that I care about what shoes I put on my feet than it is a statement of trying to be Eminem circa-2004.

Layer up, stay comfy, look good, feel great!

Do you guys feel like this outfit could work for you? Why or why not?

Thanks for reading!
