BridgeandBoro

Isn’t blue awesome? I mean that as abstractly as possible. The color is one of, if not the most common in the spectrum. Our world is covered in it, and so am I in today’s look.

As hard as it is to believe, it’s almost time for kids to go back to school. That means it’s time to go school shopping! I styled this look as an example for you guys on how to dress for a full day of school/work/errands that will translate into a night out with friends or even a date.

First of all, denim on denim doesn’t have to mean there’s a jacket involved. Every guy needs at least one great denim shirt. If you’re in the market for your first, it’s probably smart to go with something a bit darker like this one from Bridge & Boro. Denim is perfect as a summer shirt on it’s own and once fall arrives you can wear it with a brown suit or blazer and add a pop of ruggedness to your look. Similar to jeans, a shirt like this is only going to get more and more comfortable with wear.

If you haven’t gotten into the selvedge denim game yet, I’d highly recommend it sooner rather than later. If you didn’t already know, selvedge essentially means “self-edge”, which describes the denim being used in the making of the jeans. Rather than cutting the denim from a large sheet and sewing the edge, selvedge is using the already existing edge of the fabric, which can be seen when you look at the inside of the outseam (the clean white line on the cuff of my pants). Basically put, selvedge takes more time and care and yields a better finished product. My jeans are also from Bridge & Boro and fit like a glove. Again, with a jean like these, the more you wear them, they’ll start to fit your body as they stretch in all of the right places. Highly recommended as a perfect pair of jeans if you are able to wear them to school or work on a daily basis as they won’t get overly stretched out and baggy.

Since my shirt and pants matched, I figured I might as well have fun with it and throw on some navy Steve Madden chukka boots (similar here) and a navy blue faced watch from Vincero Collective as well. It rounds out the look with a certain level of intention that I think works great. It shows that you are fully aware that you’re only wearing one color and you did it on purpose.

I carried along my Bear Motion iPad sleeve to complete the “young professional” look and think it worked well as an alternative to a backpack or messenger bag.
