It’s the most wonderful time of the year, everybody!! The holidays are looming just around the corner and that means it’s time to engage gift mode, ASAP. Don’t be a typical dude who waits until the last minute. Let this year be the beginning of the rest of your gift-giving life where you’re considerate and plan out the perfect thing for that special someone…even if that special someone is you!
Today we’re going to be talking about tech gifts. With so much of our lives becoming technical, it’s awesome to have a company like Case Station. They’re an accessory brand that specialize in all things smart phone and Apple Watch. Whether it’s a custom strap or case, they’ve got you covered…literally. I’ve partnered with them for today’s blog post to show off some of the amazing pieces that I’ve gotten from them and to discuss how they would make a great gift.
If you’re in a relationship, I can absolutely guarantee that your significant other would love a completely customized phone case. Look at the header image. Do you see that hilarious photo of Jaclyn and I where her hair is blowing in her face? That’s a bluetooth speaker and the cover was custom printed with our picture. It takes an already cool item and makes it something special. It’s not the most flattering picture we’ve ever taken, but it still makes me smile every time I look at it because it reminds me of standing on a bridge in freezing cold Cincinnati weather trying to do a photoshoot.
Getting something custom made is almost like making a gift yourself…except it won’t suck, haha. I know I’ve tried to make gifts in the past and fallen short. It’s good to know that you can absolutely rely on the product to be top notch quality.
I’d recommend doing a phone case as those are something you look at all of the time. However, for a phone case you might not want to do a super silly photo for that same reason. Your lady isn’t going to want everyone seeing that funny face she made on the couch while you were watching TV. Save the silly stuff for things you won’t be sharing with the world in the way that you do a phone case. Pick a cute photo that the two of you took on a memorable date or pick one of your pets. I made one for Jaclyn with a picture of our girls on it and she’s in love. It’s on her phone right now.
Even if you’re single, you can still create something totally unique, like this “Heard Any Good Jokes Lately?” case that I made.
Going further down the customization rabbit hole, Case Station does really cool Apple Watch bands. This has been where I’ve had the most fun getting creative. A watch strap is an easy way to throw a pop of color into an otherwise simple outfit. Maybe you work in an office, but still want to add a bit of personality into your look? Check out some of the bands that I’ve made…
This black and white watch band is a lot of fun as a statement piece. It’s really simple, but different than something you’d normally see.
This band is actually a photograph I took years ago of the sun setting over the beach. I flipped it vertically and made a cool band out of it. The possibilities are endless. The more creative you can get, the better the gift will be.
They’ve also got some really great pre-set designs as well if you don’t feel like finding a photo. You can put one on any of their accessories. If you’re getting your person a new iPhone X (which if so…go you!), then get them a really cool case to go along with it! This houndstooth design is one of my favorite pre-sets!
Lastly, Case Station has some pretty cool tech accessories that aren’t just cases and bands. For instance…
That gray loop is actually an iPhone charging cable! It has a USB on one end and a lightning input on the other so you can plug your phone in on the go. I love how short it is. It comes in handy a lot.
Ultimately, the moral here is that gifting is important. You should be aware of how special you can make someone feel by putting in a little bit of extra work. Going custom is best, and Case Station has you covered, but even if you don’t go custom…they’ve got an option for you.
Be the gift giver you would like to be gifted from. That’s a good rule of thumb. I hope you enjoyed this and it sparked some ideas for you!
