Early Spring

Marks and Spencer (7 of 10)

Aw snap! It’s starting to warm back up in LA (at least it was yesterday). This mean that’s it’s time to start being more conscious of fabrics, fits and colors. Wintertime is fun for awhile. It’s nice to stay cozy in coats and hats, but I’m especially excited for early spring because it’s when I get to wear my all-time favorite sector of fashion, lightweight jackets!

Denim jackets, linen blazers, nylon bombers…you name it, I love em. I love jackets so much because they add a layer of warmth and comfort, but also add a layer of stylishness as well. It’s not always easy to be stylish shorts and a tee shirt, so summertime gets a bit boring after awhile. Early spring, when the temperatures are in the low 60’s and you can sit outside on a patio while sipping a cocktail is my favorite.

Today I’m showcasing a full look from London based Marks & Spencer. They’re a HUGE brand that offers essentially anything you could want in terms of fashion pieces. As soon as I saw this pinstripe blazer, I had to have it. It’s a lightweight linen material and the white buttons add such a nice pop of color. It will work well for me up until it starts to get cold again.

I figured that styling it with a mock turtleneck would be more comfortable than a shirt and tie, and I was right. It’s a perfect alteration to make to a look when you don’t have to be worried about being formal.

A nice, soft scarf like this gray one is a fun thing to keep on hand when it’s still a little bit chilly outside. Wrapping it around your neck and tucking it into the jacket adds a touch of warmth and eliminates it from flying everywhere and getting in your way.

The khaki pants add a nice contrast to the blue, but I’m sure you’ve all seen guys in a blue blazer and khaki pants. I’d typically shake it up a bit more than that but these fit so nicely that I just went for it.

As always dudes, it’s a really simple look when you break it down piece by piece. Don’t shy away from rocking a blazer on the weekend because you’re afraid you’ll look too formal. Dressing it down is a great way to stay stylish but also ensure that you’ll have no trouble getting in the door of that fancy new club with one generic word for a name…I’m thinking…CRUSH? No, WOW. Club WOW.

Be sure to check out Marks & Spencer for amazing deals on all kinds of awesome stuff. They even collaborate with celebrities for capsule collections. It’s awesome.
