If you’re looking to improve your style, one of the most important pieces of advice I can give you is to keep it simple. There’s no need to jump 10 steps outside of your comfort zone on day one. Sometimes it genuinely only takes three pieces to make an outfit come together nicely. I like to combine things that are basic on their own but become more interesting when combined with certain other pieces. For example, this bright red rain jacket is just that…bright. Therefore I wanted to let the jacket be a pop of color against the black of the rest of the outfit. The entire look is a jacket, pants and shoes. That’s it. By ensuring that what I’m wearing fits and compliments my figure, I know that it’s gonna work. Also, black and red is one of my favorite color combos.

Today I learned that photographing corduroy is nearly impossible unless you want a picture’s frame to be completely filled with fabric lines. That being said, I really wanted to show off these sweet black corduroy jogger pants from Fairplay Brand. The subtlety of the corduroy is a cool way to differentiate yourself from the rest of the pack. I was never a big fan of corduroy, hiding behind a false idea that it was nerdy or uncool. Once I actually tried a pair on, I was sold. They offer a bit more warmth than denim and are really soft and comfortable. Plus, they make a cool swishy sound when your legs rub together, haha. I like how Fairplay has designed these to be totally versatile. I prefer to wear them with a low profile sneaker or shoe like these TOMS but they also work well with boots if you’re trying to dress them up. If you’re looking for something fresh to spark your wardrobe, a pair of corduroy joggers is a great place to look.

Click here to check out Faiplay’s website, they have a bunch of great designs. Lots of awesome Joggers, shorts and tops.

Stay smiling, my friends!
