A good hat is like a good friend. You go through things together. You get to know one another on a very deep level. As time progresses you grow so incredibly comfortable with one another that you can’t really imagine sharing that time with anyone or anything else. Ok…maybe that’s a LITTLE over the top, but seriously, if you’ve never had a relationship with a hat like this…you should check out Stetson.

Stetson hats are celebrating 150 years of American hat making this year. Started by John B. Stetson with $100 in his pocket way back in 1865, Stetson has established themselves as one of the key players in the hat game. Not only are their hats timeless, but they’ll break in like nothing you’ve ever worn before.

I was given the pleasure of choosing a hat from the brand and was immediately drawn to this felt drawstring fedora. Something about the color of the felt was so cool to me because it was so wearable during the daytime but could easily be transferred into a night outfit as well.

The day we were shooting was around 85 degrees, so I wanted to showcase how a felt hat doesn’t have to be kept in the closet until winter and can be worn during the summer months. By sporting this lightweight linen shirt from Gap, these simple denim shorts from PRPS and some Vans, I’m in total summer mode. Adding the Stetson only takes things to the next level. It matches the shorts nicely and is really just such a cool piece all on its own. I love the drawstring because of the ability to take the hat off and not worry about having to hold onto it or remember to grab it when you leave. Letting it hang around your neck makes you feel like a total badass cowboy.

Even if you don’t consider yourself a hat person, I strongly feel that Stetson will have something that you can feel comfortable and fashionable while wearing. Check them out at www.stetsonhat.com.

How do you feel about this hat? Do you have a hat that you hold near and dear to your heart??

Stay smiling, my friends!
