So I’ve been wanting to get back into new music for awhile now and I figured what better way to motivate myself than to share it with everyone else and hopefully get your feedback as well.

This week’s Artist Spotlight is Nick Waterhouse. I first heard his music (like I do so many of my favorite new artists) listening to KCRW in Los Angeles. It has one of the best music programs for lesser known artists that I’m aware of. I definitely recommend tuning in if you live in or around LA.

Nick Waterhouse, like most strong musicians, has been in the scene for awhile producing and writing for other bands and projects. His debut solo album, Time’s All Gone, dropped in 2012 and his second album, Holly, this year. It happens so often that an artist will have several LP’s released before even blipping my radar.

In a world where electronic music currently reigns supreme, Waterhouse showcases his musical talent with the help of actual instrumentation. I find him extremely refreshing because of his retro-vibes with a twist of soul, rock and pop.

Check him out and buy his albums HERE.

This is his video for “Some Place”, one of the tracks from his debut album.

I hail from the Midwest but have been dwelling in Los Angeles for the last few years being a pretty stereotypical west coast transplant. I'm a fashion geek, I love to walk (a LOT) and I do my best to find the bright side. I'm extremely excited about this blog and hope that (with some hard work and luck) it turns into what I believe it can.
