Early fall is great because it allows you to combine outfits that don’t work at any other time of the year. I recently found this short sleeved knit top from Azul by Moussy and had to have it. I love pieces that are constructed one way, yet made of materials that are unlike the structure. For instance, this shirt feels like it would be a sweater but the short sleeves and v-neck create the aesthetic of a t-shirt. It’s a great piece for fall layering or for wearing it alone. Shop around this fall, tons of designers are doing cool things with wool, cashmere and cotton. A sweater like this one is different from something you’d normally see without being so loud that it’s obnoxious.

Combining this shirt with my cropped, pleated trousers from All Saints and some Aldo boots creates a simple look that works for casual Friday or even a date night if you throw on a dark denim or light leather jacket.

Don’t be afraid to try new things. You don’t necessarily have to buy something that’s completely outside of your comfort zone, but find a piece that’s different from anything you have and think about if you’d like to style it. If it’s something that you’re excited by, will last and you can get a lot of wear out of, treat yo’ self!

What are your thoughts on this short sleeved sweater? Is it something you’d add to your wardrobe?

Thanks for reading!

Stay smiling, my friends!
