If you haven’t started to explore the world of craft cocktails and all that it offers, you’re really missing out. One of the joys of growing up for me has been a (slight) departure from drinking to get drunk and becoming more familiar with the art of cocktails. They can enhance your dining experience, treat your palate and still give you a nice buzz. I’m going to start recommending some of my favorite cocktails more often on here, so stay tuned.
Today we’re discussing the Espresso Martini. This is a drink I’d probably recommend ordering from your bartender rather than concocting at home. Unless you’re ok with spending money on very specific ingredients or it’s for a special occasion, then go for it.
What you’ll need:
1 shot of espresso, preferably cold but if made fresh that’s fine
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Kahlua
Add dashes of sweetener to taste
Mix all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake for 10 seconds or stir 25 times if you don’t like any ice shards.
Strain the contents into a martini glass and garnish with a couple of espresso beans.
Two of these ought to be plenty to have you feeling pretty good. Enjoy responsibly!
